It was a lovely Friday. Friday is market day in this little posh corner of London - Bermondsey, in the London Borough of Southwark (read: SU-dark). The energy wafting in the air was exhilarating. People were scurrying about. We spotted treasure pickers, bargain hunters, antique mavens going about their business. Others were just passersby looking for a place to have a nice meal. A charming old bloke named Greg sold us a rare collectible china from the Booths Real Old Willow early 19th century collection. We took snapshots as we passed along the colourful stalls. Shoreditch in the trendy East London is a treasure trove of street arts. These include works by both local and globally renowned street artists. This photo stream features the work of street artist James Reka, an Australian-born Berlin-based graffiti-turned-street artist. Notable in this artwork is Reka's trademark style that makes use of surreal and abstract shapes (as they say Reka takes inspiration from French painter Francis Picabia on his works around Cubism), geometric subjects and bold colours.
