With good looks, lean body, and overall poster-worthy striking personality it’s no wonder that a smart and attractive guy like Floyd is an ideal candidate in this year’s Ginoong Turismo Filipinas.
Registered Nurse Floyd Lagera Cariño who hails from San Jacinto, Pangasinan (in northern Philippines) counts acing the licensure exams for nurses as his most unforgettable experience. When he had the license secured Ginoong Floyd said he could start making his dreams come true. “This will be my stepping stone in achieving my goals in life”, he adds.
He believes in the words ‘If others can do it, so can I!’ A testament to his staying positive attitude, the same spirit he is bringing into the competition. He believes he should be the next Ginoong Turismo Filipinas because he has the talent and the skills worthy of an ambassador of tourism to promote the Philippines and everything that it has offer to visitors.
This Gino aspirant loves doing what everybody else loves doing – wallowing on the internet. He is also a big fan of karaoke – another favorite of perhaps every other Filipino. Aside from being a music lover, this Ginoo also has got the moves. (You should see him sway to ‘Twerk It Like Miley’!) He also dreams of one day spending a wonderful vacation with the love of his life, where else, but in the City of Love, Paris.
“My hometown of San Jacinto in northeast Pangasinan is a lovely place where people are masters in agriculture, corn husk weaving, and poultry among others as part of sustainable living. The people in my hometown live in peace and harmony which is what I love most.”
A Brief Q&A with G. Floyd
My fave genre of music is ballad love songs. Listening to them is like listening to stories that inspire me and stories I can relate to. When I feel low love songs soothe me and get me back on track.
“Gata” (coconut milk). Any food with gata is my favorite. The consistency and mild sweet taste are what make the flavor, texture, and appeal of the dish. The creamy sauce just makes it mouthwatering.

Since 2009 Facebook has become a part of my everyday life. It is a good way to connect – family, friends and persons that share same interest. Working in a foreign country I find Facebook very helpful for me to keep in touch and share moments even from a distance.
