I HAVE ALWAYS been drawn to products that tell of unique stories (or at least that’s how they are positioned as) and THE NOU PROJECT (TNP) is all about that – there’s a unique and interesting story behind every design. I found the brand fascinating long before I even heard of their full story. Thanks to my friend Jones for linking me with this brand.

BORN AMIDST the ever thriving sneaker culture of New York City, this brand is the brainchild of two Arab female creatives – Nour Al Tamimi, a Saudi woman in her twenties, and her Lebanese friend Basma Chidiac. These two startup purveyors initially met at a Coachella event while they were both in the US completing their Masters in art business and design degrees.
The soul in TNP’s blueprint is all about minimalism – clean lines and no visible sole-to-upper stitching. Intentionally so, that it renders every piece as a blank canvass ready to cater to beautiful art visuals by up-and-coming artists whom the brand have collaborated with.

THE DESIGN we opted for is one of the 3 limited edition flagship high top designs. It features the artist James Rawson’s ice blue toy water gun on white leather – an interpretation, in the artist’s own strong terms, of anti-violence. This piece is no 29 of 300 units made of this design.

IF YOU’RE INTO ART (well who isn’t) this brand is for you. The creators wanted you to wear art and fashion at the same time. Classic, collectible, and practically stepping into a a work of art.
